Sinus Headache

Sinus headaches occur when, due to a bacterial infection of the sinuses, or a reaction to allergens, your sinus passages become inflamed and create pressure in your sinuses, resulting in head, face, and even pain in the mouth and jaw areas.

Sinus headaches can be treated with over the counter decongestant and antihistamine medications, but sometimes expectorants are necessary to loosen the sinus blockage.

Home Remedies for Sinus Headaches

Willow bark tea can ease fever and headache pain. Ten to fifteen drops every ten to fifteen minutes, of an infusion of golden seal, gum euphorbium, yellow melilot, wind flower, potassium bichromate, phosphorus purified water, and usp alcohol, works well as a natural cure for sinus headaches.

Fenugreek Seeds

Twice daily, boil a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in water. Make a steam tent, and inhale the steam through the nose. Then reheat the tea, and drink it, to take away sinus headaches.

Twenty ml of colloidal silver, taken twice daily for ten days, and ten ml twice a day, with five drops of the herb, thuja, taken for six weeks, will clear exotic and antibiotic resistant infection from the sinuses.

Rutin

Taking rutin, an herb found in black currant fruit juice cordial, or buckwheat flour, will support the healing of irritated sinuses and blood vessels in the sinuses. To make a black currant fruit juice cordial, add black currants to an infusion of rosehips, and allow it to cool. Rosehips are a common herb tea that builds immunity and is high in both iron and Vitamin C.

Moist Air

Breathe moist air by taking a hot shower, while you deeply inhale the steam, or use a steam vaporizer with a little bit of peppermint oil to open your nasal passages.

Warm Towels

Alternate hot and cold compresses on the forehead; if you find warmth more soothing, try warm cloths wrapped around a wet heat, heating pad, Moisten the cloths in water with a bit if eucalyptus, peppermint, or menthol. Just lie down, in a dark, quiet room, and you can also use a solution of a quart of boiled, cooled water with five drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide, a tablespoon of colloidal silver, and five drops of grapefruit seed extract. Suck, or spray this liquid into your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and expel the liquid. This can be done several times a day, and promotes expelling the mucous that blocks nasal passages, reduces nasal inflammation, and helps get rid of nasal bacteria.
