Dulcamara / Dulc

Formal Name: Solanum Dulcamara

Also Known As: Dulcamara, Nightshade, Woody Nightshade, Bitter Nightshade, Felonwort

Nightshade is the plant that provides the origin for this homeopathic remedy. It was used for medicinal purposes centuries ago and was particularly helpful with abscesses on the fingertips.

Though its uses grew, it was traditionally believed that within homeopathy, dulcamara would work best for those susceptible to damp and chills.

Dulcamara is made into a homeopathic remedy using the fresh green stems and leaves from the nightshade plant. It’s important that they are picked right before the plant flowers. This is then finely chopped, then macerated in alcohol and a tremendously helpful homeopathic remedy is left.
