Wrinkles

Everyone ages – there’s no getting away from it.

Wrinkles are a fact of life, and as we get older they become more and more of a problem.

They are simply a product of aging – the skin becomes less ‘elastic’, becomes thinner, and contains less moisture. The skin begins to sag, and this causes the formation of wrinkles.

Spending too much time in the sun and smoking can increase the rate at which wrinkles form.

We’d all love to look younger, but anti-wrinkle creams and skin preparations can be very expensive.

There is a better way to get rid of wrinkles, with home remedies that are simple and inexpensive. Natural cures for wrinkles don’t cost alot, and you can make them right in your own home.

Home Remedies for Wrinkles:

Almond Oil:

This home remedy helps to keep the skin around the eyes smooth and plump-looking.

It’s a mild oil that is easy for the skin to absorb – just massage a small amount into the skin once or twice a day.

Antioxidants:

Antioxidants are a part of many anti-wrinkle creams these days, but you can easily incorporate antioxidants into your skin-care regime for a fraction of the cost with home remedies.

The most important antioxidants for skin care are vitamins A, C and E, which can be found in many fruits and vegetables.

Mangoes and cantaloupe are rich in vitamin A, citrus fruits are high in vitamin C, and wheat germ and vegetable oils such as olive oil are high in vitamin E.

One of the most pleasant ways to take care of your skin is to prepare a face mask of mango, cantaloupe, one or two citrus fruits, some wheat germ, and olive oil.

Mix fruit, wheat germ and oil to a paste, and spread over your skin.

It’s cooling and relaxing, smells wonderful, and it’s a great home remedy to help keep the wrinkles at bay.

Flax Seed Oil:

A teaspoon of flax seed oil taken four times a day is a fantastic natural cure for wrinkles that works quickly – you may see results in as little as two days.

A word of warning however – this oil is also a natural laxative, so it may be wise to start off with a smaller dosage.

Try one quarter of a teaspoon four times a day and build up to a larger dose over a few weeks.

Get Your Vitamins:

As well as the anti-oxidant vitamins, many of the others are also important for keeping skin healthy, especially the B-group vitamins.

A balanced diet that’s high in fruit and vegetables and low in saturated fat is one of the best natural cures for wrinkles, because a balanced diet is one of the best ways of slowing down their appearance.

Many nutritional experts believe that a vitamin supplement is necessary no matter how good your diet is, so to keep your vitamin intake adequate, consider a supplement that’s tailored to meet the demands of your age and lifestyle.

For example if you’re a smoker, choose a supplement that’s high in vitamin C.

Water:

Drinking plenty of water every day is another easy natural cure for wrinkles – drink eight to ten glasses of water a day to help keep your skin hydrated and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
