Mole Removal

Nevi, the medical term given to moles, are clusters are pigmented cells. They usually appear as small, dark brown spots on your face, arms, legs, and torso, however, they have several color ranges and can appear anywhere on your body including your scalp, armpits, under your nails, and between your fingers and toes.

Most people average between ten and forty moles, although the number may change throughout your life.

New ones appear into mid-adulthood, but since moles last an average of about 50 years, some of them may disappear as you grow older.

Most moles are harmless, but sometimes moles can become cancerous. Watching moles and other pigmented patches is an important tool that medical professionals use in the diagnosis of skin cancer, especially malignant melanoma. Not all melanomas form out of a pre-existing mole.

In fact, many begin in or near a mole or other dark spot that is already on the surface of the skin. Some moles present a risk factor in that they are more likely than others to develop into melanoma: large moles that are present at birth (congenital nevi or giant hairy nevi), moles that run in families and are larger than average, and an abundance of moles that are larger than a pencil eraser.

Home Remedies For Mole Removal:

Tape a small piece of garlic over the mole, being sure to scrape the flat side so that the juice can get onto the mole. Do not remove the garlic until the mole is gone, about two to three days.

Dip Q-Tip into iodine and rub on the mole and skin tags before retiring for the night. Within three to seven days, the mole should disappear.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Soak a piece of gauze or cotton in apple cider vinegar and apply it to the mole. Secure with band-aid or tape. Change daily until mole can be peeled off.

Coconut Oil:

Apply coconut oil topically to mole. Repeat the process until the mole falls off.

These natural cures for moles are for those that are bothersome to the person who has them but does not constitute being removed by a medical professional.

Any mole that changes color or looks unusual should be brought to the attention of a health professional before any kind of home remedy or natural cure is attempted.

Removing the mole in those cases will possibly remove any signs of potential problems and prevent a medical staff member from analyzing its appearance.
