Tahitian Noni Juice

Species name: m. citrifolia.

Also known as: Great morinda, Indian mulberry, Beach mulberry, or Noni, Nono, Mengkudu, Nonu, and Ach.

What is Noni? Noni is a shrub or small tree that is a native of Southeast Asia but has been spread by man to India and into the Pacific Islands as far as French Polynesia that includes the most prominent island, Tahiti.

It's also possible to find it in parts of the West Indies.

The tree reaches maturity in approximately 18 months and yields between 4-8 kg or fruit each month in the year.

Because of its tolerance of saline soil, drought, and secondary soils, it can flourish in a variety of habitats.

The plant has flowers and fruit all year, but the fruit is a multiple fruit with quite a pungent odor when ripening, giving it the name "cheese fruit" or "vomit fruit."

The fruit turns from green to yellow and then nearly white as it ripens.

It is often called a starvation fruit because of the strong smell and bitter taste.

It can also be used as a staple food or mixed in other dishes such as curry.
