Thinning Hair

Not many realize that you lose hair everyday! It is not uncommon to lose as many as 150 hairs per day. Although that sounds like a lot, it really isn’t, as the body is capable of replacing those lost hairs. It is perfectly normal and occurs each time you wash your hair or run a brush through it. So long as you lose hairs at this rate, it can’t be considered to be “thinning hair”.

When thinning hair is noticed, this is because your body is losing hair at a much faster rate than the body can replace it. Normally, about 40% of your hair density will be gone before you notice that it is thinning!

Thinning hair can be due to several factors, but the two most common reasons are heredity and physical conditions. When thinning hair is “in the family”, that is genetic. When thinning hair occurs due to expecting a baby or cancer treatments, those are physical conditions.

Most people do not want to live with thinning hair. There are some common home remedies for thinning hair that you can try to keep what hair you have, plus possibly grow some new hairs to replace what has been lost.

Home Remedies for Thinning Hair:

Here are some of the natural cures and home remedies many have found to work:

Rinse Hair with Cold Water After Washing and Rub Scalp:

That’s right! A home remedy for thinning hair is just as easy as that. Once you have completed your hair washing and conditioning routine, simply rinse your hair with cold water and really rub your scalp! The rubbing should cause a warmth and tingling sensation. Many think that this rubbing stimulates sebaceous glands and promotes an increased blood circulation to the scalp, thus stimulating new hair growth and allowing hair that is there to stay healthy and strong. So, it will help stop the thinning hair process and may even reverse it somewhat!

Various Vegetable Juices:

It has been said that various vegetable juices can be used as natural cures for thinning hair. One is lettuce and spinach juice, which has been said to stop hair from thinning while also stimulating new hair to grow. Another is alfalfa, carrot and spinach juice. This combination is stated to show a marked improvement in growing new hair, as well as preventing the loss. Those who recommend this home remedy say that drinking ½ a liter a day is necessary. Unless you are allergic to any of these vegetables, these juices are good for the body as a whole. If you don’t see hair growth, you may notice less hair thinning due to these nutritious drinks.

Various Oil Tonics:

You can use the oils of Amla, mustard, coconut, and even castor oil as home remedies for thinning hair. You can use these tonics by themselves or mix them up with other natural ingredients. These oils combined with the scalp rubbing techniques often help minimize thinning hair.
