Apple cider vinegar is derived from apples and is a brownish-yellow color. 

It can be purchased in most local supermarkets for cooking, cleaning, and medicinal purposes.

Origin: Apple cider vinegar is formed from cider or apple must and is sold unfiltered.

Forms of Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is a liquid that can be found in areas of the supermarket where salad dressings and cooking supplies are sold.

It is also sold in supplemental form.

Traditionally, apple cider vinegar has been used to treat skin rash and ear infection. 

Apple cider vinegar is an excellent astringent and can reduce inflammation, swelling, and bruising about three times as fast as ice.

Some believe that apple cider vinegar is an excellent treatment for acne if diluted evenly with water and used as a toner. 

It is also touted as a great solution for joint pain.

Adding small amounts of apple cider vinegar to food or taking two tablespoons with a meal has been shown to reduce the glycemic index of many carbohydrates for both healthy and diabetic diners of up to 30 percent, helping to better control blood glucose levels. 

Trials also indicate that taking vinegar with a meal can increase the feeling of fullness and lead to reducing food consumption for better dietary control. 

Cider vinegar also kills the fungus malassezia furfur, which can cause dandruff, and restores the chemical balance of the skin.

Side Effects of Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is very acidic and should be kept away from the eyes.

The acid will burn the eye and cause it to turn red, though no permanent damage has ever been reported.
