Nattokinase

Nattokinase is a systemic enzyme and an amino acid peptide.  It has been noted to clear the circulatory system of the body, thereby promoting healthy blood flow.

Forms of Nattokinase:  As a supplement, nattokinase is sold in capsule form, usually blended with other ingredients such as cellulose or gelatin to create a capsule.

The standard dosage is about 100mg (usually one or two capsules, depending on content) once or twice daily.

As a treatment for blood clotting, nattokinase must be administered intravenously.

Sources of Nattokinase: Nattokinase is a enzyme isolated from the traditional Japanese “natto”, a soy food (vegetable cheese).

It is found naturally in soybeans, and while soy products have been consumed for more than 1000 years, the secrets of their positive effects on the human body have only begun to be found in the Western world over the past 20 years.

Home Remedies using Nattokinase:

Benefits and Uses of Nattokinase:

Nattokinase works similarly to plasmin, a natural enzyme in the human body, which has the ability to dissolve blood clots and promote a free flowing blood stream.

Nattokinase can also reduce fibrin (a protein that causes blood to clot) and slow blood that cause soreness and aching in muscles.

In patients who have experienced heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism due to blood clots, nattokinase has been used as a “clot-buster”.

administered intravenously because oral ingestion negates the active properties of the substance for this purpose.

In studies with rats, dietary supplementation of nattokinase has suppressed the thickening of the femoral artery and modulation of lysis after injury.

Side Effects of Nattokinase:

Nattokinase should not be used as a supplement in patients with blood coagulation disorders or with high or low blood pressure.

It can also interfere in a negative fashion with other drugs affecting blood coagulation and blood pressure, such as vitamin K, aspirin, warfarin, ACE inhibitors, heparin, diuretics, and beta blockers.

Nattiokinase is also ill advised for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
