Cimicifuga Racemosa / Cimic

Formal Name: Cimicifuga Racemosa / Actaea Racemosa

Also Known As: Cimic, Bugbane, Black Snakeroot, Black Cohosh, Rattle Root

This is a plant that has been around for years offering a variety of different uses. Cimicifuga is a plant that has long been used to treat gynecological problems within various forms of medicine.

Though it has been around and in use for years in a rather large capacity, it has been a part of homeopathy remedies not only for gynecological purposes but other areas as well.

Cimic is carefully prepared using the fresh root and rhizome of the plant which are harvested in the fall. These are pounded to a pulp then mixed with alcohol before being left to stand for a period of time.

This mixture is then strained, filtered, and succussed and the solution that remains contains virtually no trace of the actual plant itself, leaving a homeopathic remedy that many depend on and look to for gynecological problems and other ailments.
