Home Remedies Using Valerian Extract:

Benefits of Valerian Extract:

Valerian extracts have been used for centuries for a wide variety of uses, thanks to a complete range of beneficial properties. Valerian extract is considered to be an immunostimulate, a diuretic, antispasmodic, adaptogenic, and hypotensive.

The Adaptogenic properties help the body to calm during stress, helping an individual to physically deal with the stress while keeping a positive level of mental health and concentration.

The Antispasmodic properties of Valerian extract make the herbal remedy perfect for spasmodic coughing and other forms of involuntary muscle spasms. This has also been used to help women alleviate the pain of cramping, and has been used to reduce the effects of migraines. The Hypotensive properties, on the other hand, help to lower blood pressure in the body.

The strong history of Valerian extract has led to its use for a complete list of health benefits. Among other things, this extract is used for anxiety, depression, and confusion. It has been used for insomnia, and helps to improve circulation in the body. It has also been used to relieve tension, fevers, intestinal colic, hives, and difficulty falling asleep.

Side Effects of Valerian Extract:

Some of the more normal and small side effects of Valerian include headache, restlessness, irregular heartbeat, and excitability. There are some who will find that the sleep-inducing properties backfire, causing sleeplessness and uneasiness.

Some people will find that they are allergic to Valerian extract, and will deal with the swelling of the mouth, lips, tongue, and throat.

As with most other types of herbal remedies, pregnant women are advised to avoid Valerian extracts. Women who are breastfeeding are also advised to avoid the extract, as the effects of the herb on young children have yet to be understood or researched.
