Losing Weight

Today’s lifestyles are so full, with home, career, activities, and obligations, that it is no wonder the average person has to eat on the run, rarely has time for exercise, and struggles to maintain a healthy weight. Obesity is at an all time high, and it seems everyone is struggling to lose weight. Fad diet aids and programs seem to lead to yo yo dieting, which is not conducive to maintaining a healthy weight, OR good health. The only way to achieve successful, long term weight loss, and good health, are through behavioral changes and adaptations to include healthy eating and exercise. It is important to determine if you are over eating or eating the wrong foods. Do emotions trigger your tendency to reach for comfort foods? Do you go on strict diets that leave you wanting, only to binge later on the forbidden foods you crave?

Every time you lose weight, only to put it back on again, your metabolism slows down, causing it to become harder and harder to lose the weight again. There are herbal supplements that have been used for thousands of years to promote good health, speed metabolism, give you more energy, and curb the appetite.

Home Remedies To Lose Or For Losing Weight:

Diet:

There are many diet programs, and each has pros and cons. Physicians’ and scientific studies prove the best way to lose weight, keep it off, and promote good health is through eating a healthy, balanced diet of low fat, nutrient, and fiber laden foods, and incorporating regular exercise into your routine.

There are some herbal teas, aids, vitamins, and minerals that make that easier to do. I will provide a list of some, and how they help you lose weight.

Hot Peppers:

The American Chemical Society reports that a chemical in chili peppers called capsaicin may promote weight loss.

Scientists also noted that capsaicin has been found to lower calorie intake (possibly by suppressing appetite) and reduce levels of blood fats.

Supplements:

Multiple vitamin-mineral supplements are essential when your caloric intake is less than 1100 calories a day. Normal adults cannot get the amount of vitamins and minerals they need on only 1100 calories a day.

*Fiber supplements are one way to add fiber to a low calorie diet. Trials have shown that people on low calorie diets can benefit from fiber supplements or adding a food high in fiber to their diet. Supplementation of three to four grams a day of glucomannan, with or without low calorie diets, has promoted weight loss in over weight adults.

*Chitosan is a fiber-like substance extracted from crustacean shells. Trials in which 1500mg of chitosan taken three times a day, produces significant weight loss results.

*Conjugated Linoleic Acid, or CLA, when taken in doses of four to six grams a day, resulted in more lost body fat after twelve weeks, than those who received a placebo.

*Pyruvate is a compound that occurs naturally in the body, and studies showed that 22 to 44 grams a day enhanced weight loss, particularly body fat weight loss.

*5-hydroxytryptophan the precursor to serotonin, a brain chemical, when taken in 600 to 900mg daily, lost significantly more weight than the placebo group in a two-week period with the average being almost five pounds for the 5-htp group and 0.2 pounds for the placebo group.
