Genital Warts

Genital warts are caused by the human papilloma virus. This virus is very serious. It is normally passed through sexual contact, and has been linked to cervical cancer. At this time, there is no recognized cure for the virus that causes a genital wart, and the only safe way to avoid contracting them is through safe, protected sex, or abstinence. It is my recommendation that anyone who has genital warts, not only have them removed by a physician, but also have regular pap smears. Cervical cancer, caught early, can be treated, but untreated cervical cancer will metastasize (spread) and can be fatal. Genital warts can also be passed from the hands of an infected person to the genitalia of their partners.

Home Remedies for Genital Warts:

Locations of Genital Warts:

Genital warts can be found on the penis, scrotum, or anus in males, and on the vagina, vaginal canal, cervix, and anus of the female. Both males and females can contract genital warts in their mouths from having oral sex with a person infected with HPV. Genital warts are most easily seen in infected males, and females can be infected without even knowing it, since the warts are often internal. There can be a single wart, or literally hundreds of painful, unsightly cauliflower textured growths in any of the above-mentioned locations.

Symptoms of Genital Warts:

Though the warts themselves often disappear on their own, if not treated, or they can be removed by a physician through the use of chemicals, or excision techniques, but even when the visible warts have been removed, the HPV (virus) that caused the warts, remains in your system. That is why, even if your warts go away, you still need to be checked by a doctor on a regular basis, and have only protected sex, to keep from spreading the infection to your partner. Since genital warts are often unseen, especially in women, it is important to be aware of the underlying symptoms. Excessive moisture in the vaginal area, burning, itching, and bleeding during intercourse are all symptoms of genital warts. External warts often rub or catch on clothing or underwear and bleed.

Herbs:

Natural remedies for wart removal are found in herbal therapy. Some herbs thought to contain chemicals that fight viruses, and treat skin conditions, are the juice of milkweed, dandelion, celandine, and thuja. These herbs are thought to be home cures for warts, and should be applied four or five times a day.

Diet:

Another home cure for warts is eating a diet rich in dark and yellow vegetables rich in beta carotene.

Supplements:

Another natural remedy is L-lysine, zinc, vitamin A, B, and C complex, and garlic, to boost the immune system naturally and prevent contraction of HPV. It is still extremely important to point out that anyone who has genital warts needs to seek the care of a physician, refrain from unprotected sex, and get regular pap smears to promote the early detection of cervical cancer.
