Bulimia

Binge eating can be a regular occurrence for some and the reality is that we’ve all done it one point or another.

We’ve had one too many pieces of pizza or overstuffed ourselves at Thanksgiving dinner. Whatever the reason, binge eating is usually temporary and after doing so we tend to shy away from it for awhile so as to avoid that stuffed feeling.

For some though, binge eating can become a problem either due to a lack of a filter to tell the individual that they are full or something even more serious.

Bulimia is a very serious eating disorder whereby the individual will binge eat and then purge after consuming all of the food. Not only can this cause some very serious physical problems in the here and now, but it can lead to health complications later on in life as well.

For some that suffer from bulimia it’s all about control and by eating and then purging, they feel as though they are able to control this aspect of their life.

Some patients feel that they are overweight and this is a way to get some food but not all the calories. Whatever the reason that causes bulimia in an individual, it’s imperative to seek out medical attention to diagnose and deal with the eating disorder.

In the most extreme cases, rehabilitation and therapy may be necessary to treat the condition.

However there are some excellent home remedies that one can practice in order to get rid of bulimia from their life.

Natural Cures for Bulimia:

Water:

It may sound rather simple and it is, but drinking plenty of water can really help to act as a natural cure for bulimia.

For some people, the binge eating is a reaction to feeling like they are hungry and they can’t stop themselves from eating far more than is required.

So drinking plenty of water, particularly before or around meal time can help the individual to go into a meal time feeling not quite as hungry and not allowing as much room thus eliminating the potential to overeat.

Water can be an excellent home remedy for bulimia and dealing to the triggers that lead to the binge and purge cycle.

Spicy Food:

Generally speaking, most people don’t tend to overeat spicy food.

The spices affect the taste buds in a way that almost prohibits the potential to binge eat and thus spicy food ends up being a very natural cure for bulimia.

So including spicy foods on a regular basis in the diet can be a very effective home remedy for bulimia and dealing with the likelihood of binge eating occurring.

Eating Regular Meals:

For some people, skipping meals or snacks can lead to a feeling of starvation. It is that feeling that leads some to overeat as they are so hungry going into a meal that they can’t stop themselves.

Maintaining a regular schedule for meals and snacks and sticking to that can really help act as a home remedy for bulimia and the feelings to overeating that come along with the eating disorder.
