Bone Spurs

Bone spurs quite simply put is the growth of a bone where another bone already exists.

This excess bone may not cause pain in and of itself, but when it rubs against the bone and the joints that are already there in place it can cause some excruciating pain for the individual suffering from it.

Bone spurs are a common condition, particularly amongst the elderly, and one may not even realize that they have this excess growth until it causes pain due to the rubbing against existing bone.

Bone spurs are quite common in patients suffering from osteoarthritis as the body attempts to overcompensate for the loss of bone cartilage that comes about from this condition.

As arthritis can already cause discomfort, the addition of bone spurs can create some awful pain, especially at the site of the problem itself.

Most people suffering from bone spurs seek medical attention and this is a good idea. There are some creams and prescription medications that can help to get rid of the pain associated with bone spurs.

Though getting rid of bone spurs altogether can be rather difficult, there are some excellent home remedies that can help to remove the pain and inflammation that are often associated with this condition.
