Hepar Sulph

Formal Name: Hepar Sulfuris Calcareum

Also Known As: Hepar Sulph, Calcium Sulfide, Crude Calcium Sulfide, Sulfuret of Lime

Calcium sulfide used to be widely used for the general public as an external treatment for many types of skin conditions.

It isn’t used in that capacity anymore for humans, though it does have commercial uses. It was discovered within homeopathy years back as an antidote for the problems that mercury may cause if ingested. It is continued to be utilized within homeopathy, and the resulting homeopathic remedy is known as hepar sulph.

Hepar sulph has many uses and is a relied upon homeopathic remedy. It is made by taking the flowers of sulfur and powdered oyster shell.

This combination is heated and then dissolved in acid, and is then triturated with lactose sugar. The process for creating it is rather extensive but the homeopathic remedy is well worth it.
