This is one substance for which homeopathy can really be credited for. The compound of potassium was devised and proven to be of value centuries ago within homeopathy.

It has gained much attention since then and is used for a variety of different conditions. The homeopathic remedy causticum has always been used specifically as a first aid remedy for burns and those pains that have a burning sensation.

Causticum is prepared by taking slaked lime and sulfate of potash and combining them. They are dissolved in purified water, and this solution is then further diluted and succussed.
