Bryonia Alba / Bry

Formal Name: Bryonia Alba

Also Known As: Bryonia, White Bryony, Common Bryony, Wild Hops

Bryonia may not necessarily be a name that you are familiar with, but it has some very historic roots. This plant is quite common and has been known for its medicinal properties for centuries.

Though only used for medicinal purposes due to its high toxicity levels, the uses of this include everything from sterilizing wounds to relieving paralysis. It is no surprise that when discovered by the world of homeopathy it would be used for very different healing properties.

Bryonia was discovered as a homeopathic remedy many years ago and has been of tremendous value within homeopathy ever since. The root of the plant is dug from the earth before flowers ever begin to grow. It is then chopped, pulped, and macerated in alcohol for a period of ten days.

From there it is diluted and succussed, and what remains is known as the homeopathic remedy bryonia. It offers tremendous value to those with a wide range of health conditions, but tends to work best for ailments that start slowly and are accompanied by pain.
