Energy

Most people begin their day with coffee, on the run, after getting children off to school.

Often, we skip lunch, working through the day. Then, we play taxi, picking up and dropping off children at various functions, with barely a moment between stops.

Taking care of a home and family, having a career, and so many of us having elderly parents to look after as well, is the perfect recipe for barely being able to drag yourself out of bed in the mornings, and setting yourself up for an energy gauge that is sitting on zero.

Home Remedies for Energy:

Stress, the Number One Cause of a Lack of Energy:

The number one cause of an energy deficit is stress. Expected to be able to do it all, and drowning in stress has caused lack of energy to be one of the leading reasons for visits to doctors’ offices.

Once the doctor rules out medical reasons for fatigue, such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, clinical depression, or anemia, stress is likely to be the reason given for your lack of energy.

It is true. No one can deny that the average adult has plenty of stress to literally drain them of all energy.

Taking a step back, identifying what your stress triggers are, and getting the family together to come up with viable alternatives to eliminate some of the stress, and create a little extra time in your day to practice healthy alternatives to enrich your life, can be energizing.

Diet:

A simple solution to a lack of energy is a proper diet.

Grabbing a snack full of sugar and a cup of coffee is the best pick me up around, but the aftermath is a put me down, that leaves most of us much more tired than we were before.

Most of us do not consume anywhere near the amount of water the body needs, and walk around dehydrated all the time.

There are healthy alternatives to drive through coffee, or carbonated beverages, and anyone who lacks energy, should make it their priority to get plenty of fluids.

Diets rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, and dairy, combined with plenty of fluids, are steps in the right direction.

Eating take out or convenience foods, means we are consuming food chocked full of refined flour and sugar, as well as processed foods with preservatives and flavor enhancing additives, that literally robs your body of energy.

Exercise:

Aerobic exercises (exercises that raise your heart rate) three times a week for 20 minutes each time will activate the brain chemicals that govern feelings of energy and healthy vitality.
