BoilsBacteria are everywhere. In the air we breathe, surrounding surfaces, in our bodies, and even on our skin. Some amount of bacteria is good because it helps us to develop more white blood cells for fighting against the germs that cause serious illnesses. Boils happen when the bacteria, naturally on the surface of our skin, enters the hair follicles of the skin ( through tiny-cuts, scrapes, a diabetic condition, or poor hygiene habits) and clogs the hair follicles, causing infection and inflammation. Boils can appear on the face, back, buttocks, shoulders, and under the arms. Boils often cause itching and can also cause some pain. A boil will be filled with a substance that is often referred to as “pus.” When boils become completely filled with”pus,” they turn whitish or yellowish in color, indicating they are ready to be lanced, (drained of “pus.”.) You shouldn’t try using any natural cures or home remedies for boils if you have a fever. A fever indicates that a severe infection is present and requires the attention of a doctor. No fever? Then you might well be interested in trying some home remedies for boils. There are natural cures to “heal” and rid yourself of boils and that also offer some relief from aggravating symptoms, right in your own home. Home Remedies for Boils:Vitamins A and E:Vitamin A is a recommended home remedy and natural cure against getting boils as Vitamin A helps the immune system resist the bacteria that causes boils should it make its way into the hair follicles of the skin. Vitamin E is another home remedy and natural cure (defense) against the bacteria that would like to leave you with a bothersome boil to contend with. Warm Soaks:This home remedy, namely soaking in a warm bathtub of water, can soak away pain and draw the pus that must be drained from a boil before healing can begin to the top of the boil’s surface. Soak in a warm bath, using mild soap to avoid irritating the skin further. Once a boil has been drained of pus make sure to wash the area with a soap that contains anti-bacterial ingredients to kill any lingering bacteria. Keep the area dry and covered by cotton bandaging. Time:Want a home remedy for boils that costs nothing and is allotted to each of us every day? That home remedy is time. Yes, given enough time, the body will naturally cure itself of a boil given that precautions are taken to prevent them from spreading. The time needed for this natural cure will differ with each person. Some will “heal” from their boils in as little as 5 days while others may need 10 days or more to completely heal from a boil. |
