Goats Rue

Species Name: Galega officinalis Papilionaceae.

Also known as: American Garden Rue, Catgut, Devil's Shoestring, Rabbit-pea, Horey turkey peas, Virginia Pea, Virginia Tephrosia.

What is Goats Rue: This plant is native to the eastern North America. It is normally found growing in dry sandy woods, open fields and roadsides.

The plant has no odor unless a stem or leaf is bruised, causing the release of a stench, hence the name goat's rue.
