What is Ginseng? American ginseng is native to North America. This type is related to the Panax ginseng, but from studies American ginseng has higher levels of different chemicals.

American ginseng has not been as widely studied as Panax ginsengs but they both seem to help people cope with physical and emotional stress.

The American ginseng plants are small, only a foot tall. They have dark green leaves and when grown in the wild like dark, damp and cool areas.
