Ho Shou Wu Extract

Side Effects of Ho Shou Wu Extract:

Although considered to be a safe herb with little toxicity, there have been some reports of liver reactions in some cases.

In a study of the herb’s safety by the Institute for Traditional Medicine in Portland, Oregon, seven reported cases of liver reactions were reported.

The patients, five women and two men aged 36-70 years old, were all taking Ho Shou Wu for treatment of their hair loss.

Of the seven, three had jaundice, one had abnormal liver functions, two had hepatitis and one had both jaundice and hepatitis.
