False Unicorn Extract

Species name: Chamaelirium luteum

Also known as: helonias root, fairywand, blazing star, drooping starwort, rattlesnake

What is False Unicorn Extract? False unicorn extract comes from Chamaelirium luteum, which is a member of the lily family. It can be found in moist regions of the Southern United States including Mississippi.

The false unicorn plant has a lovely appearance with purple flowery spikes. In fact, some florists have used it in arrangements. However, false unicorn is currently considered an endangered plant so proceed sparingly with this extract.

In high doses, false unicorn root has also been called a “cardiac poison.”

Though false unicorn extract can help with fertility issues, pregnant women should discontinue usage.
