Benefits of Bee Propolis Extract:

The interesting factor about bee propolis is that although it has been used by ancient civilizations, it has only been recently researched by the medical community.

Current reaearch indicates that not only does the propolis give stability to the hives, but it acts as a protection from bacteria and diseases as well as parasites.

In studies that are based on the components of propolis it has been shown that there have been over 180 different compounds identified.

Some of the more common ones have been 40-55 percent flavonoids, with some trace elements of organics and minerals. From a vitamin stance it is B3.

The most widely studied attributes focus on its antiseptic properties and the effect on bacteria, fungi and microorganisms.

They are being monitored closely in their combination with antibiotics.

Although many countries are taking an interest in propolis, it is Eastern Europe that has done the majority of the studies.

However there are few double blind studies which are classed as being the most accurate and extensive in scientific testing.

China is also showing a keen interest in this as well. The major areas of interest are its benefit to intestinal, dermatological attributes, as well as dental uses.
