Nutritional Extracts

An extract is a solution or infusion made by extracting a valuable substance from material that which gives it its essential and characteristic essence.

Extracts and tinctures contain medicinal properties of the herbs used in home remedies. The majority of extracts from plant material are used in the dried form of the plant. However, there are some that must be used for extraction in their fresh form as they will lose the healing properties when dried.

The fluids most commonly used to extract the plant properties are alcohol or water and/or a combination of both. The essence of the plant is then used as herbal extracts in home remedies.
