What is Wulong Tea? Wǔyí tea is the most famous and expensive Oolong tea from China.

Wulong tea is a tea grown only on Wǔyí mountain cliffs in the Fújiàn province.

Though it is prepared in a similar manner as Oolong, Wǔyí tea is differentiated from Oolong by it's difficult growing conditions on cliffs in the Wǔyí mountain range.

It is not as dark as black tea nor as grassy in flavor as green tea.

It fits somewhere in between these two teas, offering a smooth, soothing, semi-sweet experience for the tea drinker.

It is the tea of choice of many tea enthusiasts.

All tea comes from the same plant (Camellia sinensis), the level of aging and fermentation it goes through determines the final flavor and type of tea for brewing.

Green tea is barely oxidized, black tea is heavily oxidized, and Oolong is somewhere in between.

After hand harvesting, the tea leaves are wilted in the sunlight and shaken to release the oils and other beneficial compounds.

The tea leaves are only partially dried to stop oxidation.

The tea leaves are not crushed, leaving most of the original tea leaf intact.
