Xango Juice

Species name: Garcinia mangostana.

Also known as: Mangosteen Juice, Amibiasine, Mang Cut, Manggis, Manggistan, Mangosta, Mangostan, Mangostana, Mangostanier, Mangostao, Mangoustanier, Mangouste, Mangostier, Manguita, Meseter, Queen of Fruits, Sementah, Semetah, Xango, Xango Juice.

What is Xango? Mangosteen is a sourly sweet tropical fruit.

It is typically eaten as a dessert or made into jams; the rind is rich in pectins.

Mangosteen juice is currently being marketed as a healthy and medicinal drink under the name xango juice.

The mangosteen consists of fruit, juice, rind, bark, and twigs.

While the fruit and juice offer a healthy and medicinal food and drink, the dried rind is used primarily for medicinal purposes.

Benefits and Uses of Xango Juice:

The fruit, rind, and bark of the Mangosteen fruit contain some medicinally active constituents.

Although, no reliable test results are available concerning any benefits that may be derived from eating the whole fruit or consuming the rind or bark extracts.

The rind of the mangosteen fruit contains tannins, which can reduce secretions in the mucosal tissue, thus being effective in the reduction of diarrhea.

Mangosteen also contains xanthones for antioxidant and other beneficial properties.

The fruit is high in carbohydrates and iron but low in vitamins and minerals.

The juice has many benefits that can be derived including boosting the immune system and blood circulation due to the high amount of antioxidants and nutrients that it contains.

Recent studies suggest that mangosteen fruit and juice may be helpful in the prevention and cessation of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, and other chronic diseases.

Although people have used the fruit and its juices for a number of different conditions including those mentioned above, there is no documentation at the present time to support the validity of those claims.

Though not proven yet medically, early studies suggest that the Mangosteen fruit and juice may have beneficial properties in treating some every day conditions.
