Pineapples are the only fruit of the bromeliad family that has widespread cultivation.

Home Remedies using Pineapple Juice:

Benefits and Uses of Pineapple Juice:

Pineapples contain an enzyme that allows it to digest food by breaking down the protein, thus allowing it to be used as a marinade and tenderizer for meat.

Some evidence supports the bromelain in pineapples as having anti-inflammatory benefits.

Some also believe that it is beneficial for some intestinal disorders while others believe that it helps induce childbirth when it is past the baby's due date.

Pineapples can also be used to aid in digestion.

It is a good source of manganese, Vitamin C and Vitamin B1. Because of the abundance of manganese, pineapples have the added benefit of strengthening the bones.

In addition, the Vitamin C helps fight colds and flu.

There is an added benefit as well – the bromelain that is in pineapples allow their consumption to act as a cough suppressant.

Not only do they help suppress a cough, but they loosen the mucous as well.

Because pineapple reduces the amount of time it takes the blood to coagulate, they can be beneficial for heart patients.
