Marjoram

Species name: Origanum marjorana (also known as Origanum hortensis) of the Labiatae family.

Also known as: Marjoram is also known as knotted marjoram.

Marjoram essential oil has a warm, scent and ranges from clear, to a light, golden or amber color.

Originally from the Mediterranean part of the world, Marjoram was traditionally given to newly married couples as a charm to bring good luck to them. 

Well liked in Greek culture, marjoram was often used in medicine and in scents.  It was also scattered on floors and among bedding to eliminate odor, ward off insects, and freshen the air.

Marjoram oil is extracted from the leaves and blossoms of the plant, via steam extraction.
